Who May Stay At The Dwelling Place
An eligible family is one which includes at least one adult with legal custody of at least one minor child to reside together at The Dwelling Place.
As an emergency shelter, The Dwelling Place may house a family for up to 45 days. Time extensions are granted as needed. During their stay, residents must show initiative in seeking permanent housing and a stable income.
The Dwelling Place is free of charge and available to all families regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, or handicap status. Families must be considered Norfolk residents to be considered for temporary residency and the family must also be capable of self-care.
