Skilled and Specialized Volunteering

Skilled Volunteering
There are always opportunities for the trade/skilled volunteers to show off their talents as well. Our latest needs involve plumbing, gardening, windows, and playground updating, among others. Call to find out your skills can make a difference.

Do something you love while providing assistance to those who really need and appreciate it. It could be job related or even recreational (knitting, reading, child play, gardening, etc.). The possibilities are endless!

Specialized Volunteers in Family Advocacy*
The Dwelling Place focuses just as much on strengthening families as it does to help families achieve self-sufficiency. Homelessness puts a lot of stress on each family member in a different way and uniting families in activities that foster growth and relaxation makes easing into success smooth!

Joining families by arranging on-site dinners or lunches has been beneficial for children and parents. During this time, parents are able to give their children one-hundred percent without worries. Family activities can include an art program, a meal, a special trip to a family park for a picnic, etc. Anything that you may enjoy with your family can be equally appreciated by our residents.
