Volunteering Opportunities for Groups

Collection Drives
Host a collection drive within a group or even among co-workers. You can coordinate the collection and delivery of supplies that are necessary to the continuation of our ability to serve homeless families.

Make a themed collection to keep things interesting, designed around the time of year! At the end of summer school-supplies are needed, in fall warmer clothes for the children and adults (including hats & jackets), and costumes and pumpkins are wonderful for Halloween! Also, we have basic needs for cleaning supplies (excluding bleach products) and paper products (paper towels, bathroom tissue, etc.).

Our In-Home Services program is occasionally in need of appliances or furniture to help re-establish families when they move on to self-sufficiency! You can work closely with the Resource Manager or Case Managers to get an accurate idea of the particular needs of each house at the time.

Weekend Family Activities
The Dwelling Place focuses just as much on strengthening families as it does to help families achieve self-sufficiency. Homelessness puts a lot of stress on each family member in a different way and uniting families in activities that foster growth and relaxation makes easing into success smooth!

Joining families by arranging on-site dinners or lunches has been beneficial for children and parents. During this time, parents are able to give their children one-hundred percent without worries. Family activities can include an art program, a meal, a special trip to a family park for a picnic, etc. Anything that you may enjoy with your family can be equally appreciated by our residents.
